A Financial Review and a New Plan to Start Fresh
Summary
Callum helped his client see the details properly for the first time in years.
Sarah (60) came to us after several difficult years dealing with family issues, a painful divorce, and a long period away from work. She was exhausted, having sleepless nights worrying about money as she didn’t believe she had enough. She had been 'burying her head in the sand' and felt nervous about meeting us, as she didn't know what financial planning involved, but her friend kept telling her she just needed to speak with KDW.
Before I came in, I felt completely overwhelmed and scared about the future. After speaking with KDW, I finally felt like I had a plan and could breathe...
We started by listening and helping Sarah get a clear picture of where she stood financially and what she ideally wanted to do with her life. After totalling up her investable assets and reviewing her spending needs, Sarah’s jaw visibly dropped when we explained that she had enough, if managed appropriately, to support the lifestyle she was planning. Most importantly for her, this meant she did not have to go back to work.
From there, we built a practical plan to help her understand what was affordable, which investment options were most suitable, and how she could start making decisions with more confidence. We gave her the space to ask questions without feeling judged or rushed. Once the plan was approved, we also set everything up for her, so she could focus on enjoying life again rather than worrying about running out of money.
The value of investments and the income from them can fall as well as rise and you may not get back the amount originally invested. The information contained within this case study is for guidance only and does not constitute financial advice.
